Day 3 - rocky mountain national park

Last night was our first night in my new tent,  and despite it being very windy we slept pretty well.  We decided to go on one more short hike before we left the park.  This hike was more in a valley so it was quite warm and we saw a nice waterfall,  a beautiful mountain lake rimmed by pine trees with 1200ft peaks as the backdrop,  and we got to watch a moose eat a tree from 20ft away....  Unfortunately when we went to take our first photo we found a dead camera battery and two dead cellphones.  We got one photo because after we got back to the car I grabbed a fresh battery and ran back up the trail because it would be hard to leave with nothing.  After a quick stop in Estes Park we headed west to Grand Junction....  On the way our car hit 100,000 miles which we've been talking about for months,  but we missed it because we were so caught up in the final chapter of an audiobook. I think our Saab was happy to hit that milestone while in the mountains.  Tomorrow is catching up on homework and emails and maybe some mountain biking.
