I thought I would share the BQs ("big questions" as Pastor Steve calls them) with you:
WHY?!?!?
So - I am doing a 14 day detox for a couple reasons... I want to find out if I have allergies to any food/food groups (wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy....) so that I can hopefully find if one of those categories is causing my skin to break out. I have tried everything a dermatologist could through at me minus another dose of Accuntane or crazy expensive/invasive laser treatments. I wanted to get down to the core of the problem - not just cover it up.
SO - HOW'S IT GOIN'?
Sunday was the toughest day so far…. Since Saturday my diet has consisted of only lettuce/spinach/broccoli/pears/apples!!! Today is my last day of that schedule – thank goodness! Tomorrow I can to any/all low glycemic index produce. It will be nice to have more variety! Then, starting Friday – I get to start re-introducing things into my diet!
My detox process started last Tuesday with eliminating certain foods - then Saturday was when I started the hardest part.
SO - WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT???
I would highly recommend doing a detox – I really do feel great! Yesterday was just also hard because of have a long, out of town wedding on Saturday! (we are usually kinda tired anyways….) I do have to say though – I couldn’t have done it without 2 major things – a strong motivation for why I am doing it (to see if I have any food allergies that cause my skin to break out so bad all the time) and my other motivator through all of this is prayer. I didn’t think that prayer would become such a big part of my (personal) detox. God has really protected me during this. I LOVE food SO much – seriously (most of my memories involve what I was eating at the time…. No joke) – so I have been really tempted through much of this, but I really feel that because I turned that temptation into a prayer for strength, guidance, courage and perseverance God really honored that.
Another bonus is that Kassie – the owner of Kasia Organic Salon is such a strong believer in God’s awesome salvation for us through Jesus Christ. She has been more than just a facilitator for me – she has been there for me emotionally and spiritually – which is huge.
I hope that answers your questions - I would love to answer any/many more!
Have a great day!

You go, Karin!! You're half way to your goal and finding more answers. That's very exciting about prayer becoming so important during this time...you are after all actually fasting, which does often sharpen spiritual awareness since the body isn't stressed by food. Watch for what else the Lord might say to your heart as you seek Him this week: )
