Detox Day 3!!!

Yesterday was a great day - I wrote early in the afternoon so I wanted to share a bit more....

As some of you may know - I have such a love for food (not necessarily 'fine dining') but, I would say that a large portion (60-75%) of my memories have some connection to food. Touring in Italy with the choir - of course I remember the amazing churches - but MAN! I can still practically TASTE the amazing gelato, tiramisu and 3 cheese alfredo! So, this whole detox thing - whew! yeah...

I knew it would be hard - but I never dreamed it would be this rewarding. I already posted that I feel great (physically) but yesterday was really eye-opening. I was on my way home from work (in Savage, 25 mins away) and I had a big craving for something chewy... not fruity chewy - chocolaty chewy! I knew I could just stop and grab something wonderful - I mean, I had the resources: cash and about 5 extra minutes! That way I would buy something without a paper trail and I would still be home on time! WHAT?@!?@! Seriously Karin??? I had such a good day with food, I was feeling awesome - where is the world did this come from. I instantly thought of something Kassie (my detox lady : ) had said: pray.

Going into this I knew I would be cutting out certain things - a lot of things. The result being that by cutting all of these foods would give me some much more time; and what a better thing to use that for than prayer. I never thought that Satan would try to ruin this for me like that, but God is so much better!

So here is what I am clinging to today: Psalm 73: 26, "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

Have a great day - treat your body as a temple and make good choices! Trust me, it feels great! Off for some breakfast and a shift!

~K : )
