A winter's worth of snow in words.... Catching up.

It has been almost SIX months since my last post!

In those last six months a lot has happened!

I know I left the blog on a bit of a downer note - it was end of busy season and I was {a bit!} tired and sad to be missing out on so much in my friend's lives because of our busy work schedules.

I have spent a lot of time over the winter evaluating myself, how I best feel rejuvenated and how to make the best of this life, honoring God, my husband, family and friends.  Happily I can tell you that I look forward to being able to set better work boundaries MUCH in part to the new studio we acquired in February!  I look forward to being intentional about time with Danny and making it be the BEST year of life and marriage yet!

So what were we up to these past 6 months?

I got to go to a PACKER game at Lambeau with Amy K! {Thanks for bro-in-law} We also took niece Roman to an apple orchard :)

In November, Dan spent my birthday weekend deer hunting {he got TWO deer on his first day!  EVER!  2 eight point bucks that is!!} and while he was away I gathered a very helpful crew of Brandon, Tyler, Momma Nancy, Mimi and Papa {Dan's parents} and my dearest Brittanie to help me paint the living room {and add a new tv stand/unit, rug, switch around couches and new ottoman} we repainted the hallway, Dan's office, bathroom and trim, Dan's dad re-did the grout in the bathroom and we also switched out the mirror, added new storage and a new light fixture.  OH! and I painted the shower..... we did this all in THREE days!  We have awesome people in our lives :)

Also in November we hosted Thanksgiving {again!} and I loved it :) {again}

At the end of November we shipped the pups down to Nana and Papa's house in Winona and Dan and I took off to NYC for a {not-so-wintery} adventure {I have always had a dream of Christmas in New York - but it was in the 60's while we were there - NO complaints here!!}

For Christmas we spent Christmas Eve with Dan's family in Eau Claire and my family came to St Louis Park once everyone was done preaching ;)

After two wintery weddings in January - we - again - shipped the pups off to Nana and Papa's in Winona and escaped the cold to Hawaii for 18 days {initially for an AWESOME wedding, and the rest just on vacation!} I am not sure if that last link will work unless you are friends with Dan on facebook.

In February Dan went skiing with some buddies in CO for a long weekend, then I got to go to Mexico for a quick two days for a wedding :)

In March we typically get ready to head to Arizona to see my grandparents - but sadly {and I truly mean sadly, I cried at least 5 times} we stayed here {and now it is the near end of April and we have another 6ish inches of snow coming tonight} believe me - I wish we could have gone!

but between all of our other travels, getting {and spending MANY hours on the studio}needing to spend some time just focusing on us, prepping for wedding season and prepping for my Aussie cousin Lauren living with us for 5 months, we needed to stay home.  Hardest choice of the winter, since over the last {literal!} two decades, I have been to Tucson 16 times.  It feels like my winter home being able to go and see my grandparents.  They have been such an inspiration to me in every aspect of my life - not spending a week with them down there this year was truly hard on me.

BUT! Here we are!  It is mid-end April, we had our first wedding last Saturday and we still have 32 more to go!

It is going to be a great year :)
